Fantastic news about the withdrawal of the application to extend High Pow Wind Farm. Full details of this can be found on our High Pow 2 page. Our relief at this must be tempered by the warning that the developer will soon return with a new proposal. This is made abundantly clear in the withdrawal letter (see link on High Pow 2 page) but it is a welcome respite just the same.
We received extra good news when we learned last week that the proposal to erect a 30.5m wind turbine at Clea Mire was dismissed at appeal by the Planning Inspector on the grounds of unacceptable impact on the local landscape. Our congratulations to local residents and to everyone who contributed to the campaign. The Inspector's decision can be found by following this link and clicking on the word 'decision.'
