I have now recieved the following from Nick Hayhurst, head of planning at Copeland Borough Council, regarding the implications of the ministers statement last week.
"Clearly the announcement last week was a statement and we are awaiting the issue of formal guidance from the Government on this matter. Although we need to bear the statement and its content in mind now as a material consideration we cannot consider its full implications until the guidance is formally issued.
I will endeavour to send you a copy of the guidance once it has been issued as requested.
As a foot note to this you should be aware that we received notification last week that the Weddicar Rigg has been called in by the Secretary of State for a final decision following the public inquiry."
